Between Emergence and Disappearance 2025

My work traces the contours of bodies in flux—forms that surface, dissolve, and reconfigure themselves across the canvas. These paintings are not representations of a fixed moment but explorations of time, sensation, and the spaces in between. I am not searching for wholeness or a conclusion. Instead, I seek to illuminate the quiet, persistent movements that mark our passage through the world.

We do not exist as static beings. We are always becoming—shaped by what we lack, by what escapes us, and by what we reach toward. Form is never final. It flickers, disperses, merges with the landscape, or retreats into it. The figures I paint exist in this liminal state, hovering between presence and absence. In their partiality, in their vanishing edges, they reflect the fluid condition of our being.

This work is rooted in a belief that life is not a series of fixed points but an unfolding stream. The body, too, is part of that stream—constantly engaging with its environment, changing through contact, reaction, and memory. Each brushstroke becomes a trace of that interaction. Layered color and shifting outlines document a kind of transformation rather than definition.

We understand the world not only with our eyes but with our whole selves. Perception is a sensorial weave, thick with ambiguity. I aim to reflect that ambiguity—the way something can feel more true when it’s slightly out of focus, when it echoes rather than declares. These paintings live in that ambiguity. They ask us to sense rather than simply see.

As we move through today’s rapidly shifting terrain—where identity, reality, and truth itself feel increasingly unsettled—our bodies and minds adapt in ways both visible and invisible. This work emerges from those adaptations. It asks: What does it mean to exist in motion? If we are never complete, how do we understand ourselves? How do we find meaning in the ephemeral?

Ultimately, these paintings are offerings. Not of answers, but of a space where movement, fragility, and depth might resonate.
